Sniap S.r.l. has its registered office in Leghorn, Via S.
Omobono and its factories are located in Collesalvetti (Leghorn),
Via Pisana Livornese Nord and Via delle Colline Livornesi.
The two factories have a surface of 17,000 m2, of which 7,000
m2 are covered.
The factories are located near the A12 motorway and near
the SGC FI-PI-LI freeway; the operations centre in Via delle
Colline Livornesi is directly connected to the railway line.
Company Presentation
Sniap was established in 1971 and initially worked in the
nautical sector designing and building displacement and gliding
hulls in glass fibre reinforced resins.
In subsequent years after careful market research the company
decided to diversify its production and became involved in
more complex production and processes. Since 1975 it has worked
in rail transport including undergrounds and metropolitan
rail networks providing design, production and supply of fully
integrated systems made of thermal hardening materials (polyester
resins, epoxy, and phenol) reinforced with glass fibre carbon
and Kevlar, as well as sandwich structures with honeycomb
and fire-resistant fillings.
The company is involved in researching further applications
for these materials in the rail sector on behalf of Ansaldo
Breda Costruzioni Ferroviarie, Fiat Ferroviaria / Alstom,
Firema Trasporti and Bombardier. It is continually expanding
its clientele on the domestic and international market.

1. Driver’s cabins (external shell, control panel,
internal linings and sandwich panels)
2. Full range of internal fittings
3. Complete toilet units with accessories, doors, operating
systems, plumbing, vacuum toilets and diagnostic
systems.
