The Materials

The search for modern materials and innovative production processes remains at the heart of Sniap’s operations. A large part of the company’s financial and human resources are dedicated to finding solutions to our clients’ needs.

The need to create composites which satisfy rigorous mechanical, chemical and physical requirements means that Sniap uses outside laboratories both in Italy and abroad so that it can provide certified information to all its clients.
Structural Calculations

The composite materials used in the construction of structures are optimised with the help of structural calculations (FEM) and are chosen on the basis of the project’s specifications. This work is carried out by our engineers working with consulting studios.

Critical points are highlighted in the structural calculations and consequently the composition and geometry of the components concerned is optimised so as to maximise safety and operational efficiency.

Model Construction

Sniap has the skills (its technicians), computer systems (CAD/CAM) and equipment (5-axis computer- operated mill) to build the models of the designed object.

Starting with the 3D CAD model and CAM production the model obtained with the mill can be used as a mock-up, for approval both of the style and as a definitive model from which to build the mould.
Construction of equipment and moulds

Great care is taken when building equipment and moulds for the new ranges to ensure products are built to the highest of standards and so as to optimise production cycles.

The principal criteria involved here are:
  • Choice of materials

  • Mould breakdown and assembly

  • Design of the strut system which give the moulds rigidity.
